Bergie sees more users face-to-face
Posted by Bergie on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 1:36 PM
Tuesday afternoon when I was out shooting Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 No. 261 (click here to see a photo), I bumped into two more Trains.com users: Dave Nelson (a.k.a. dknelson) and Keith Schmidt (a.k.a. kschmidt). I was working... I don't know why those two weren't doing the same. [:D]

This was after bumping into icemanmike on Sunday night. Boy, that 261 sures pulls users out of the woodwork! [:)]

Wish I could make it to Galesburg Railroad Days this weekend... I'm sure I'd see more of you there! Maybe next year.

Incredible photo! [tup]

Come down to Nebraska to see the Challenger. Who knows, maybe you'll meet me or Mookie or some other whacky Nebraskan train fan!

Actually, I would love to. I was bummed last summer when the NMRA convention in Toronto got cancelled. I love that city. And a friend of mine here at KPC loves B.C. and is always talking it up.

Maybe it's time to burn some of those frequent flier miles!

What's the Challenger? JUST KIDDING!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist. [:o)]

Actually, my chum Mike Yuhas who does "Trackside with Erik and Mike" with me read this week's edition was in Lincoln a couple of weeks ago and dropped in on Maddam Mook. Look for that in next Monday's edition of Trackside. [:-^]

Bergie,

That is a GREAT photo. Should be on the cover of a magazine (hint hint).

....A great rendition of working steam engine 261....and I'd bet you got showered with cinders a very short time after you shot this scene as I see you are downwind.

Bergie,

Us county employees do occasionally get some time off, not much though. And woudn't you know it that our pictures look almost the same. Luckily I moved over to the "right side of the tracks" . There was a big concern of being shut out by the freight. on the "wrong side of the tracks". Good to see you there.
