BNSF scanner frequincies?

Hi, I just bought a bearcat scanner, and was wondering if someone knows some railroad scanner frequincies? I live in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, but any where for any railroad would be good. I am going to Galesburg, Illinois this year and was wondering what it is there? But as I said any railroad for any where would work. Thanks.

For now all I can think of is ch.87 161.415 mhz.

Go find Gary Sturm's KALMBACH book/ American Railroad Radio Frequency Compendium...
Then pick out
AAR 40 = 160.710
AAR 44 = 160.770
AAR 78 = 161.280
AAR 83 = 161.355
AAR 73 = 161.205
AAR 65 = 161.385
AAR 87 = 161.415
AAR 39 = 160.695
AAR 54 = 160.920
PBX3 160.665/161.505

And check against a current timetable....

...and check the laws regarding use of the scanner ....touchy issue, don't let it spoil your fun and learning experience.....

There are plenty of resources for RR radio frequencies. Locally compiled scanner lists usually include active local channels for the RR. Google "frequencies" or "scanner" and the locale. You may have to pick through some junk, but you can generally find an authoritative list. Many local scanner enthusiasts and hams willingly share their knowledge of local scanning with the world via the web. Compare their lists with the references above to confirm your choices.

MC and Rodney gave you good lists. Regardless of where you get your info, what you will want to do is listen and watch the scanner, to determine what's on that you want to hear. You may find channels that have no information that you find useful. Lock 'em out or delete them. You'll have to be the judge, though. I might not care about yard ops on the other side of town, but you might find that they portend action on your side of town.

There are only a few states that ban mobile scanners, but it would do you well to know. There are several sites that list the laws, state by state. Google away!

Don't limit your scanning to the RRs. There is a whole world of radio out there. What the heck, if you're close to a fast food drive through, you can listen to peoples orders....

Thanks. There are not alot of train enthusiasts around here, And the town I live in is only about 10,000 people. I've looked all over the internet and didn't find anything for the town I live in concerning trains, and the ones I've tried haven't worked. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong!.......

PS, it's only a 30channel scanner, I had to buy something I could afford.
