[8D] I was channel surfing when came upon a DHL commercial where a UPS and a Purolator truck met at a crossing.a piggyback train went
by hauling DHL delivery vans..of what railroad or was it a leased engine
lettered in DHL as local hauler has engines lettered and in there colrs with NBSR.

Think safety always

We saw a similar commercial yesterday, with a UPS driver and a FedEx driver at the
crossing. I wonder if they make different versions of commercials for different areas?

I saw it on Tuesday night as well. I thought it was pretty neat. I loved the expression on their faces as it went by.

About a month ago, our company tried DHL Worldwide. We had UPS. They said they could save us a whole lot of money.

We went back to UPS about 2 weeks later. This is only my opinion.

I ,too, saw the commercial and remember it as cherokee woman described. The shot of the power was very quick- but I thought it was BN in executive paint but that may just be what I wanted to see!

CW,
Yes, they made different versions of the same comerical.
Down in the swamp here, Purolater is almost unknown, so the comerical has UPS and FedEx, due to those two being the major players here.

Of course the reality is that UPS uses more rail intermodal transportation than any of the other express carriers.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

I asked this in the other thread on this subject;

Does this mean that DHL will use intermodal transport?

I tried DHL's website, I didn't have any luck finding the commercial there. Maybe someone else can have better luck finding it.

It was a Arizona and Califronia Train. My Uncle is an Employee for them. He Said they used a ACR GP30 and a California Northern GP35. The cars were JTTX Multi Purpose Flats.

Ed,

Thank you for the information. I always like reading your posts. They always help
me, and I learn from you. Keep teaching all of us. Even those who know more
about railroads learn from you, also.

My sister used to work for a light bulb company. They used UPS until UPS started denying their freight claims (for broken light bulbs), then started using RPS (now FedEx Ground, I think FDX had just bought them at that point). Then RPS started denying their freight claims too, the worst being a light fixture that looked like it had been run over by a truck!

They went back to UPS after that...

Have a happy day!
