CSX ---> UP???
Posted by JPowell on Friday, June 11, 2004 2:04 PM
Can anyone shed some light on something I heard from my barber yesterday... He's (my barber) a retired Conrail employee here in DeWitt, and still has buddies who now work for CSX here in DeWitt NY, who are saying that UP now owns CSX as of about a month ago????

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Surface Transportation Board most likely wouldn't allow it and no filings, decisions or notices posted at STB....

Both CSX and UP are in such bad shape that a UP/CSX merger in the near future would be Penn Central 2 (Route of the meltdown).

The only thing both roads have to fear is.....prosperity!

The last 50 years of cutting back on physical plant have both companies well positioned to exist in a Depression level economy.....however, a thriving, prosperous economy will bury both companies in business they no longer possess the facilities to handle.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Someone once told me that he would see a pig fly before we would have an actor for a U.S. President or Georgia would have a Republican Govenor, Like Grand Dad said "carefull how you use such terms like never, ever and impossible description"[:-^]
