BAR is now part of RailAmerica and is renamed Maine, Montreal and Atlantic.
B&M, and MC are part of the Guillford System with also incorporates Springfield Terminal. They used to own D&H also, but that is now part of the CP system I believe now, as the St Lawrence and Hudson...someone may correct me on this.

The Vermont Central. Did you mean, Central Vermont? If so, it became the New England Central back in February of 1995. Now a Railamerica property.

D&H, SOO and IC all still exist, at least on paper, as US subsidiaries of their Canadian parents.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Since the 1920's the CV was a part of CN but it was spun off.
