There's lots of SP and Cotton Belt locomotives (patched with UP numbers, of course) here out west. Almost any UP train might have one.

About two weeks ago saw and took photos of 2 L&N coal hoppers with only a CSX hopper separating them. Had not seen L&N for quite some time until then. I was lucky that the train had been stopped so I really got some good photos of them.

I have seen a covered hopper with the very old Norfolk Western logo. I see them go by work every now and again.

I see quite a few Milwaukee Road and C&NW grain cars on both the UP and WSOR that run through here. Also a few weeks ago, there were ex C&NW switcher locomotives seen here as well. Im sure they serve GM as part of their job.

Yesterday I saw 3 old Santa Fe engines in the old yellow and blue paint. They were the only engines on the freight headed north through Castle Rock, Colorado with about 30 mixed cars. I haven't seen many of these engines lately, but to see three at the same time was quite something, too bad they were to far away to get the numbers.

I have recently seen many fallen flag cars like CNW hopper and boxcar and CNW autoracks. I also see CV, Cotton Belt, Southern pacific, Chessie System, CR, Southern, to name a few. All of these have been seen on CN trains. I have also seen one L&N hopper. for locomotives I have seen CNW(no CNW logo), Conrail, Southern Pacific.

derailment? what derailment? All reports of derailments are lies. Their are no derailments within a hundreed miles of here.

Hey Brian (louisnash) I saw a Family lines covered hopper yesterday. I saw it coming and I made sure to leave one photo on the roll for you. I'll send it along as soon as I get my photos back tomorrow. Saw some others but can't seem to remember what they were.

I think it's out of Sturdevant, WI, but while waiting for the CP steam, saw the local with SOO engine AND CABOOSE heading south with 3 tank cars. Looking pretty clean.

I enjoy watching the CN mainline (former WC) in Duplainville and Waukesha, Wisconsin. They runs lots and lots of their fallen flags on their freight trains. Lately I have seen:
Chicago Central
Illinois Central ("Mainline" or split-rail logo)
Illinois Central Gulf
Illinois Central ("Death Star")
Wisconsin Central
Green Bay & Western
Northern Alberta Railway (merged in early 1980s!!!)
Grand Trunk Western
Detroit & Toledo Shore Line!!!
I haven't seen any Central Vermont or Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific lately, but they're out there...

Other fallen flags:
Mid-South
plenty of Milwaukee Road and Soo Line
Chicago and North Western hoppers relettered to GCCX
Conrail renumbered to CSXT
Spencerville & Elgin relettered NOKL! (Is that a fallen flag?)

I have a bunch of these fallen flag pictures on a new web page:

Thanks!

"Old" RR's that have been sucked up by the biggies, therefore no longer around
