Does anyone know if any former louisiana midland freight cars are still in service anywhere?

There probably are, but don't count on them being recognizable as such.

A lot of the LOAM cars were relettered for the Northwestern Oklahoma Railroad back in the 80s, but since that line changed hand, they went to their lessor, General Electric Rail Services Corp. You might find them in various ITLX and PLCX series, or they could have gone to other (usually shortline) operators.

I saw one of the old LOAM "Crophoppers" not too long ago; forget now how it was lettered. But you never would have been able to tell its original color (white)...about the only thing that wasn't rusted over was an area where the "LM" decal used to be.
