Greetings one and all. I am the relatively new GM on the GET: I formerly operated the WVN in Kingwood, WV. I am proud to announce that GET is finally coming around and we are now moving in the right direction...both with freight and with passenger/tourist trains. It has been an uphill battle: the word is out that the GET scenic shutdown which is true...only we took it off the RIP track and repaired/remodeled it to become the PIONEER LINES somewhat after the Reading Lines RR heritage. Our "scenic" schedule has expanded to include dinner trains & conductor's lunches--cab rides might be available too.

This coming November, I am organizing a railfan event....Nov 20 & 21. I am scheduling both a freight and passenger train to operate across our railroad making photo stops/runbys along the way. We will travel across the entire line up to Mt Holly Springs. I have hand picked several locations for the shots. This will be a two day event. Our table car is now equipped with both A/C and heating to create a spouse friendly environment:.) Fare is $75.00 for Sat or Sun or $100.00 for both days. That includes lunch! Saturday night entertainment and dinner will be provided and I am working on a hotel discount rate. Basically, I want to share this with you because the GET for the last several years has been overlooked and unfriendly toward the RR community.

I have made it my goal to make this now friendly, little railroad a thriving business which is unfolding, but we need to get the word out that things have changed here. I have met a great deal of people this year who have photographed us trackside...all of which were very friendly!! THANK YOU for coming, introducing yourselves and then going to take pixs. I would appreciate hearing your stories of the GET, whether old or new-- please take the time to list them here or email me at pioneerlines@innernet.net.

Thanks again and hope to see you this year!!
