I'll have to keep an eye out for those commercials.

Via doesn't do a heck of a lot out here in the west though.

They run an RDC on the island and of course the Canadian comes into Vancouver twice a week, I think.

--The only Via commercials/Ads I have ever seen have been in TRAINS magazine.

Via Rail Commercials

A couple of days ago, the Weather Network was on and I wasn't particularily paying attention, but I happened to catch a commercial for Via. It was actually, two very short commercials one after each other and I didn't quite catch all of the first one. I was hoping to see them again, but I haven't since then, so that's why I haven't started this topic until now. The second one simply shows the stretched-out legs of a person sitting in a passenger car. The person crosses their legs and on the screen appear the words, "The want for leg room. It's only natural." The words then change to "Transportation for human beings." and a Via logo then appears. The first one showed a little girl sleeping presumably in a sleeping car and probably was quite simmilar, but I didn't really pay attention until the Via logo appeared. I think that these are really a step in the right direction for Via and present just the sort of image that would want for advertising. I really think, though, that both Via and Amtrak should be far more agressive in advertising to the general public. People need to know the advantages that rail has over flying. I must say that I absolutely love that "Transportation For Human Beings" and could not possibly think of a better slogan!
