GP15?

A Norfolk Southern line runs through our property at work, so I get to see a lot of trains. Usually it's just your run of the mill unit coal trains or intermodals being pulled by Dash 8s or 9s.
The other day, a train went by consisting of two engines and about 8-10 tank cars. The lead engine had a fresh NS paint scheme, and I believe it was a GP-15. If I remember correctly, it was number 1421. Can anybody confirm this was a GP15? I just thought it unusual to see such an old locomotive. The second engine was in Conrail paint, but didn't catch what it was or the number.
Thanks!

GP15-1s aren't that old. They were rebuilt from the frames of old GP9s but there are as new or newer than most GP38s...

ok, thanks! It was indeed a GP-15-1. Hadn't seen one before, so just thought it was little odd.

I seem to remember the GP15-1 appearing in the late 1970's while I was living in Wisconsin and C&NW had some in Wausau.
