I like the H2 scheme. I love the scotchlite yellow letters on the side of that loco. Makes that scheme a little more brighter then the H1. I also like the cigar band on pic to as well. My only problem with H1 is that it is to dark it needs something to brighten it up a bit.

#1. Not so much the logo, but the paint scheme that goes with it. #2 has too much orange

The color scheme is like the unfortunate choice of name for BNSF. It is a frankenstein collage of fallen flags with a logo that reminds me of the label of an aspirin bottle. The Santa Fe variation so delutes the bold colors of the original that it looks like a faded shadow of it's former self . Ugh. The Acela choice of colors resembles an airline scheme which is probably intentional.
Where are the bold yet simple colors of yore in fallen roads like Alton, Milwaukee, CNW, etc. Take your pick. Any of these would be preferable to these examples of decision by committee.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

I prefer a mix of the two - I like the cigar band, but I also like the darker upper and lower stripes.

I'm with Puckdropper - but then I'm not a SF fan. The herald certainly looks better - I think that there's too much clutter on the loco nose for the big design - strap it across an F or PA and it might just work.

I like the top one best. There's just something about green and orange on the side of a locomotive...

The second one just looks like it's a forced adaptation of the old scheme. Things like that almost never look good.

I like #3, the engine all the way on the right... [swg]

For BNSF I think they shoulda recycled the old Northern Pacific scheme, black and that funky yellow with the red pinstripe. Not to mention the "monad" logo! Coolness...

Seriously, I like the Heritage I scheme over the H2. The Heritage 2 is... a little too much. I do like the green and orange though... I always thought Wisconsin should have replaced the old yellow-n-black license plates with green and orange.

Speaking of Amtrak, I saw a picture a while back of ONE E8 or 9 that they painted black, with the "pointless arrow" logo. Sharpest-looking Amtrak engine I ever saw!!! WAY better than the platinum-mist-crap.

I think it's great that BNSF has adopted the University of Texas colors...

I like the second photo better. Easier to read the Logo and I like that paint scheme better.

I can't just look at the photo and decide by that, rather you have to look at the rest of the railroad. BNSF paints all of their units except the 70,75,C44,and AC44s in the Heritage 1, that look good, I like that scheme. But as you know I like selection, and don't like only one look because paint schemes are disappearing all of the time. I truthfully like the first one better, but I am forced to say the second one because of the selection.

Actually, maroon and white would look just fine...Gig 'em...Aggies.

(in reality, the second one, but would be better in the old warbonnet red and silver)

Excuse those whom are historicly without thought the BNSF colors represent
the Great Northern in a furture look as historic page unopened.

Couple up and hoses latched.
