Oh and not hanging the pics at walmart... having them blown up to hang in my house and in the train room, sorry for the confusion. I don't know if they WOULD let me hang it at walmart but they should for all the money I spend there.[swg][:-^]

Well, I've been to both Strasburg and Steamtown (and ridden trains out of both) and they run neck and neck. I've also ridden the North Conway RR in New Hampshire.

The first time I visited Steamtown in Scranton, the Berk was outside, with steps to the cab. I have a pic of me sitting in the engineer's seat. Cool when you can do it!

...I remember when we visited the Pennsylvania Museum some years ago and I did photograph the original Prototype GG-1 unit in the musuem I managed to get some decent photos of it but remember it really soaked up the light. And on some views the paint was so shiny it reflected the flash so easily.

Forget the gas! You can also drive to Paradise PA and get down below that arch bridge over Rt 30 to witness the run around they do in order to get the train back to the station. (9 miles I think)

Hi everyone. I just got back from Strasburg PA. I have a few pics that I will be posting here on Monday or Tuesday. Got pics from the Strasburg RR, the National Toy Train Museum, & National Railroad Museum. Included will be Amtrak loco 603, Pennsy Electric 4465, Conrail GP 30 #2233, Engine # 90 (10 wheeler) from Strasburg RR, and some pics at the Toy Train Museum. The
GG-1 did not turn out[:(!] Oh well I've already Decided I'm going back when I take my 2 weeks Vacation in July. If noone has not seen this place then I highly suggest you do, it's worth the GAS to go.
