I always liked SF (and BN)...to BN fans ( if they even exist [:P] ) they seem to hate warbonnets.

We are BN/SF of the Borg. We will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

I don't see such a big problem, Ed. The Santa Fe is about as defunct as the Fort Smith & Western or Kansas City-Kaw Valley [look 'em up]. In a few more years, it'll be a rare event to see an ATSF-lettered freight car. Come to think of it, I don't see that many now. [All complaints should be sent to skeets c/o Unihead Corp., Houston, USA.]

There's nothing wrong with a double dose of Santa Fe[;)].

However, I can't make the connection with Kalmbach and Maxim.

Maybe new back page advertising?. [:-,]

Take care,

Truth be told, we "borrow" all our ideas from The Simpsons, Kenny Blankenship and Ken Romano, Scrapheap Challenge (the good episodes, with Robert Llewellyn), Despierta America, Lente Loco, varias telenovelas, The Gilmore Girls, Sports Illustrated, TV Guide, Maxim, the New Yorker, and The Atlantic Monthly.

I am not making this up.

The Gilmore Girls??? I can warp(or unwarp) my mind enough to envision the others but The Gilmore Girls? How does this happen?
I've learned soooo much about the RR on the medias you mentioned (Simpson hobo episode comes to mind)but I can't recall anything from the Gilmore Girls!
BTW- (since the cat is now out of the bag) the Santa Fe-all the way club is in open enrollment now. Just send $$ to me and I will keep your membership confidential and you will have a sense that YOU are part of a prestigious members-only club!

The Santa Fe never fit with the SP nor does it fit with the BN (my term is QN).

I know that I am not alone, but I also don't really understand why I feel this way, either. I have not been able to make the combinations in my head that were made on the ground. There are, for me, the Hill Roads (QN), SP, UP and ATSF plus the KCS. I morn the demise of the MILW - the little engine that almost did it and cheer the GN, the little engine that really did do it without going bust like the NP, the UP and, yes, the SP all about of or prior to 1900. The MP and SLSF also still live.

I don't know what this is supposed to mean. So, --

Long Live the GN
Long Live the NP
Long Live the Q
Long Live the North Bank (SPS)
Long Live the UP
Long Live the OSL (aka The Western Cross)
Long Live the O-Dub
Long Live the SP
and yes
Long Live the ATSF. War Bonnets Forever.

Now, --- about those Stonecutters ... ... ... ...

Did anyone else notice that Model Railroader and Trains magazines both featured the Santa Fe on their June covers?

Lucky accident, or is there a secret Santa Fe Society at Kalmbach we dont know about?

(of course, if we knew, it wouldnt be a secret, right?)
