Nice article. Bob Bryant is a good guy. Obviously CSX likes him or they would never lease him this much railroad. I have met Bob before and I have every confidence he can and will make it happen despite the complaints from the BMWE guys who can use their seniority to move elsewhere. I'll bet that if BBRR offered them a job they wouldn't take it anyhow, but there are plenty of experienced railroaders out there who will and for less $$ too. Good luck Bob.

Wouldn't that be a nice way to retire, instead of buying and running an old restaurant, operate a few miles of track on a shortline.

Great reading!

It really exposes the gritty reality of of CSX's attitude and fear of passenger operations due to liability. [B)] Can't blame them totally. Our wonderful lawyers and liberal judges went "GA-GA" in the 1980s, suing anyone and everyone when possible for whatever. [V]Transportation companies were easy targets. We've reaped, what we've sown.

I'm just glad that I lived in the time period where I was able to enjoy riding and/or seeing several pleasant excursions, that were welcomed by CSX's predecessor, Seaboard Coast Line. [:)] Seems like yesterday. A lot really does change in 20 years..............................
