Brookmere, BC Evacuated Due to Fire
Posted by Pathfinder on Sunday, August 2, 2009 8:21 PM

Brookmere was on the old Kettle Valley Railway and shared facilities with the KVR and GNR, incluidng a unique double spouted water tank.

Yesterday a fast moving wildfire just south of the town started and due to its very active state and the way the winds are blowing, it has forced the evacuation of the town.  There are about 100 full-time residents, who will be reporting to the evacuation center in Merritt.
