UP Challenger excursion.
Posted by traingeek087 on Sunday, May 9, 2004 1:27 PM
I as you know live in Nebraska, so the Challenger will be coming close to home on its way to Houston. Does anyone know the route it will be taking? I believe last time it went down the Marrysville sub, will it be taking the same route? And also what's the dates?

I've also heard it was suppose to go over the overland to Omaha. Is this true? I'm talking about a entirely different excursion, but don't know when. Does anyone have any infromation/date/eccedera.......?

Thanks to everyone.

Here's the link to the schedule:

I'm not at all familiar with that area, but I assume that whatever the Marysville sub is, that's where it will go because it's going to spend a day in Marysville. That's where I'll be seeing it!

Well, this is good and bad news. The good news is I might be able to see it when it runs down to Marrysville. The bad news is on it's way back, from Fremont to North Platte, I get back from Galesburg Illinois the night of, so when we get back at 3 in the morning, have to leave at 8, so that gives us 4 hours of sleep if we go, not too much. Hey, I'm 16, I can drive while my dad takes a nap. That seems like a plan.
