I'm planning a trip to CSX's Mountain sub division and wondering if any of the towers are stil open. I last visited Keyser tower and it was open. What about MK at Rowlesburg and Grafton? Any info most welcome. Than[:)]k you.

Good luck on seeing anythng, 8 trains a day is the norm on that line......If you want to railfan the Mountain Sub, I suggest purchasing the Video Pentrex made entitled "CSX Mountain Sub, Up, Over, Around and Through" Your best bet is to go northward and go to Sandpatch Grade!

Robert:

Keyser and M&K Junction are both still open, Grafton is not. I had very good luck there two years ago with trains, though there were maybe six a day, but the weather was worthless and so were the photos. Most of the lines I enjoy seem to have little traffic, but in general I'm looking at the railroad, not the trains, so it doesn't bother me very much.
