They are trying to re-invent the wheel. Most European countries like Germany, France and Britain know how to run secure railroads. So DHS is going to re-invent it all.

Typical.

While in France this year, at Garre du Nord, a fellow who was riding the Chunnel train with us, set his lap top down and walked about 3 or 4 feet away to make a phone call, the station police raced up, put a bomb hood over the computer and blew it up Right there. No questions asked. The fellow went into orbit claiming that the police and just destroyed a million euro's worth of business information. The response? "C'est la vie." They then simply walked off.

Try that in the US! Our friends across the pond have had 15 years of experience with this sort of thing and they simply don't take any prisoners. Nor do they ask any questions.

Hmmmm, isn't Spain in Europe? The Madrid bombing would suggest that maybe the Euro railways aren't quite as secure as you suggest. It is probably only a matter of time before it happens in France or Germany.

The bottom line is you cannot protect every kilometer of rail line, there are always vunerabilities somewhere along the line that the terrorists will spot and exploint eventually.

Mass transit systems are nothing more than terrorist bait.

Haha, Poor chap, Sounds like something of the Simpsons. However, If the police did that to my laptop, I would attack the police, Its not right they did that, I suspect that the Guy will just sue them for a new computer
