I've seen four BC Rails recently, including two on one train. Three have been on the EJ&E, and one was on the IC Iowa Line. We also have two GTW GP38-2s, and of course some EJ&E SD38-2s around, so it has been colorful lately, but still plenty of J stuff!

TPWRY

yea CN is shipping them all over the place lately even on the BNSF (this train was headed to Glenn yard from Galesburg) I've heard several BC Rail locos were on BNSF in the past few weeks

Who needs to spend millions of $$$ on a heritage fleet ala UP? Just skip repainting the units!

Thanks to CN for lots of colorful power on the Waukesha Subdivision as well.

BCrail and EJE locos are getting common on the old IC. I see them 2 times a week around effingham il.

One of the last trains I saw up this way had an IC SD70 ('Deathstar' Scheme), EJE SD40-2 (bright orange), and a GTW GP of some variety (blue & red).  Makes for a colorful sight!

To a Power Manager, when it comes time to provide power to a train....an engine is an engine and will be used wherever the train needs to go.

Now that the Illinois Central and BC Rail are both part of CN, seeing BCR power in Illinois may be unusual but can be expected.  Several months ago, I did see a BC Rail loco near Glenn Yard.  Of course, you'll find a little of everything on the dead lines at Woodcrest.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Draper Taper.

GVT has several former BC locomotives, chiefly on the Mohawk, Adirondack and Northern out of Utica, NY.  Most are still wearing the old two-tone green scheme (most of those are former EL), although one, 642 (working out of Carthage, NY), is still in the red, white, and blue scheme.  That one starred in a TV movie called "Atomic Train."

All of the MA&N locos are ALCOs.  I've worked with a couple of them.
