Phoenix, Arizona- Rehabing the Station?

Talked with my son out there in Phoenix, AZ. He said that they have reopened the railroad station there and are in the process of rehabilitating it. Does anyone know if they are turning it into another "transportation center" or if they actually plan to run trains out of it? Did anyone tell John McCain about this? Is this just another rumor to stir the heart of an old man who'd like to take the train to Phoenix? (Last I heard, travelers to Phoenix got off the train at Casa Grande and took a bus into town. Yuck.)

Erik:
I doubt if any trains will run out of the rehabbed Phoenix station since the Union Pacific plans to abandon the Phoenix branch west of Phoenix if it hasn't already started to do so.
