Farewell Johnny Trains

[:(][:(][:(]

Dear friends,

Many of you may know Johnny Trains (John Niegocki) of New York City. He has posted here many times.

It's my sad duty to tell you that he died in NYC this past Thursday. He was a few weeks shy of his 47th birthday. He went into the hospital for "routine" heart surgery and developed complications not related to his surgery.

His wife, Mary Kay, has been gracious enough to keep me informed of the events as they unfolded. Just last night I received the call from her that I DID NOT want to get.

I first met Johnny here in this forum. We hit it off right away. The thread was about our favorite RR songs. Johnny knew pop and folk music as well as anyone. He loved taking photos of trains. He loved the camaraderie. He WAS camaraderie.

He traveled to Ohio several times and we had some great adventures railfanning Deshler, Fostoria, Cincinnati and Covington, KY. He was due to return again on the 9th of May. Sadly, he will never return.

Mary Kay will be returning to Ohio this summer with some of his ashes to spread them in some of his favorite railfanning spots. Bless her thoughtfulness.

My heart and prayers go out to Mary Kay and Johnny's daughter, Kathleen.

Rest in peace, Johnny. May heaven be a railfan's paradise.

Farewell to a GREAT friend,

edtrain

Very sorry to hear of Johnny Trains' passing. I believe I remember his name from the
forum.

May he rest in peace in that Happy Trainland in the sky. May God be with his family
and give them comfort and solace in their time of sorrow and grief.

Always Sorry To Hear That We Have Lost A Railfan. [:(]

May God comfort the family and friends as only he can.

A friend of mine died the same way, of complications due to surgury. It is very sudden and unexpected.

Rest In Peace.

"The memory of the rightous is a blessing." May his spirit be with us and continue to enjoy our enjoyment of our hobby and professionalism, whatever the case, and may his wife receive comfort and opportunities for friendship in the future. Dave

RIP Johnny Trains. May you always have the sun at your back and may there always be a passing train in heaven.

All our thoughts are to his family in this time of sorrow. But you can't help but be happy to know that he has eternal life in the great land above. The greatest gift of all.

He will be in our prayers.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Johnny routinely on another forum. He was a great person who shared many rail-related pictures of the New York City area with me. It is indeed a great loss to al of us.

I'm sure many of you will agree that losing Johnny was like losing a family member.

God bless ya Johnny...We'll miss you! [:(]
