Ok, guys, I have a question for everyone. Besides those who go trackside basically everyday, but do go every weekend, how many locomotives have you guys seen more than once, and at diffrent locations. I have seen many locations, and those locations were just over 1,000 miles apart. Those locations are Clovis New Mexico, and here, my hometown of St. Louis Missouri. Those units are BNSF 102, 555, 666, 888, 1107, 4501, 5323(now wrecked) and of course, 9647. 9647 is the specially painted "Barfbonnet" I wi***o hear alot of responses for this thread. Well, I got to go know, as my friends are over and they want to watch Japanese Animation.

My streak of diffrent locos at the point was broken last weekend on CSX.Exactly 1 week apart.Engine 5114 was in charge.I got it leading an eastbound in deshler then last weekend in Hamler.

I see a lot of the same CP loco's doing coal runs into roberts bank.
They are usually on either end of the coal train and just go back and forth all day long.

Lately though, CP has been using those same units on intermodal trains to help with the current back-log they have down at the bank.

One of my favorite sightings is the E&N 3004 that is actually a CP locomotive, but they painted it with E&N colors for when it used to work on Vancouver Island.

I saw it Friday for the second time, first time was about a month and a half ago, both times it was the lead unit on a CP intermodal train.

AND yesterday for the first time I finally saw a BNSF coal train down at the bank. I guess it's just my timing but apparently they are down there every now and then. 4 units on the head end.

Kind of hard around here not to see the same over and over again, as most of the locomotives I see are either part of the local short line, or the local NS switchers.

Same thing with me. Yard and transfer power is pretty much assigned long term by the major carriers and BRC and IHB are hometown terminal roads.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Guess I will have to start keeping track of the #'s. Going to have to learn shorthand, however, since there are a lot of them.

I started a database on my computer and have seen some of the same dash 9's leading intermodel trains on the transcon line through kansas so these engines have probably been a ways away before coming back through here.
