Photo 1 looks great, nice composition, rule of thirds followed, but it ends up looking like a staged, builders photo.

Number 2 gives the impression of mass and size, brute force, and the details on the nose show up.
The heat and dust add to the effect.
Note how it almost looks like it was taken in a different location than the other two?

But photo 3 gives the impression of action, you feel like the train is moving, and moving fast.
Enough details on the locomotive show up to make it interesting, its just a more visualy satisfiying photo.

I can't believe those people were sitting on the tracks, that's crazy.

That little kid looks like he's resting in the perfect position to have his head taken off, that kind of crap gets me mad.
