Old Steam Locomotive Headlight

I have a Rochester locomotive headlight made by James Kelly Rochester Headlight Works N.Y. around 1890. It measures 22" tall, 12" wide, 9" deep and has a 10" lens and reflector. It is an oil burner. I have been told because of its size that it was used on a street car. I was also told that street cars were electric so it couldn"t have been, and was probably used on a small switcher. However if you go to :
http://pinnaclewebs.com/railroadimages/headlight.htm ,It is pictured in detail as a Locomotive headlight. Does anyone know anything about this old oil burner??
