Caption This (These)-3
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 11:07 AM
With the two previous "Caption This" topics, I decided to start one of my own with some weird pictures I found on the web.

Photo #1:
This gives the term "Piggy Back Train" a whole new meaning.

Photo #2
This is this engine's last run before it's scrapped and so all the railfans in India are trying to get a chance to ride on its final trip.

Photo #3
There's actually another elevated station across the street. French engineer Jean-Pierre was very confident in the power of his engine and thought that if he went fast enough, his train could make it to the other side.

Photo #4
Hey!!!!! No kissing in public!

Photo #5
They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for motive power these days!

#1.We're the All Blonde Railroad, and this is our idea of a double stack train.
#2.This was the only passenger train on this branch line before the rails were torn up,and every mileage collector in the world is riding to get the rare mileage.[:p]
#3.Peter Pan was the engineer, and he thought if he could make children fly,he could make trains fly, too!
#4.My TO said train #1 has rights over train #2. Thats funny,MINE says train #2 has rights over train #1.
#5.Call Omaha, we've been in this siding WAY too long.

The real reason so many tracks in central Illinois were being torn up-the unruly East St. Louisans were doing this to steam locomotives in the past, you don't want to know what they do to Double-Stacks and SD70MACs![}:)][;)]

If you have never heard anything about St. Louies' east side, don't worry none of it is good.

#8: Another ingenious idea by us americans to break the TGV speed record, and convince the world that you don't need to raise overhead electric lines.

For those of you who like #8, here's a colour picture I had found of it with another car, but unfortunately this is as big as it can get.

How about these?

BNSF experiments with amphibious locomotives.

Actually, though, this isn't a new idea. The same thing was tried 100 years ago.

Those amphibious locomotives would be perfect for steam! No more annoying stopping for water, plus if the brake man gets bored, he can throw a fish hook in the water!
