The reality that I wasn't born "with a silver foot in my mouth" does suck. [}:)]

The reality that I don't have Bill Gates money does too. [;)]

Oh well, such is life. (Now if I knew French I could have said that so much nicer.) [:p]

Isn't it "C'est la vie" (Pronounced Say LA Vee) in French?

Jim-

I was n't born with a silver anything either. Unfortunately, there are usually reasons all this great stuff is for sale and if you buy this sort of thing because you like it you are almost always paying WAY too much. Looking at some of the locomotive prices on the same site I can tell you that they are on the high compared to the open market out there for railroads. Caveat Emptor (Let the buyer beware). Without a silver spoon you gotta be really careful. I always am. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have a passenger train.

Oh and for some more great passenger stuff for sale including some Budd domes (that's right domes!) in the wake of the failure of the Acadian train ceck out this auction link:

It sounds terrific, but I'd want to see who's tracks they operate over and whether the agreement is assignable (transferable) to a new owner, otherwise you could end up with a terrific train and no place to run it. Also, I'd need to see real financials proving the concept works. A lot fewer people have the ca***o spend on this sort of thing since the stock markets have crashed over the past few years...

I'd do this stuff even if I won the lottery. Been burned by too many "good" ideas along the way I guess...reality sucks doesn't it.

Since the other train that is for sale seems to be getting some views I thought I would also post this one. [:p]

The British Columbia country side seems very beautiful. (No I don't own it and am not drumming up business. I would love to own it though.) [:)]

And you know, Mudchicken doesn't even have to build us any track for this one. [;)]
