I don't think you can. I've wanted to make some other pictures I've posted smaller, and when i asked about it, they said you couldn't.

As I've said before, I am always happy to post photos on my web server for anyone who does not have their own web space to which they can link. I can also resize them in Photoshop if they need to be made smaller. My email address is: nora@homewoodjunction.com

As Nora mentions, you can use a program like Photoshop if you have it. A tryware program I've had some luck with is LView Pro, which I found on tucows.com. Don't know if it's still there, but they usually have several graphics programs you can download and at least try. The usual disclaimers and cautions apply.

If you are seriously (or only sort of seriously) into digital images, you should get a decent graphics program. Not only can you change size, but you can adjust exposure, contrast, crop, etc, and can change file types, which can be handy sometimes.

traingeek,

The picture you use must be posted somewhere on the internet. There are some sites that let you post pictures, and maybe the rest of the gang can tell you who. Me, I got mine from fallen flags website, www.rr-fallenflags.org Another good website is www.railpictures.net Hope this helps.

ok let me give it a try here.

did it work?
P.S. I'm using a kodak camera, and taking it directly from a file on the computer, is there something else I have to do?

Modelcar, sounds like your photos are on HP. I thought we had gone over the how to part about 6 weeks back. Unfortunately I didn't know at the time about the HP problem. There are some very frustrated and determined people over on CTT tring to figure out how to use their HP pics. Below is the link to that topic.

...Frustration is the buzz word that fits me trying to somehow establi***he process to post a photo on here...Especially the "host" part of it....Any thoughts to break it down in a more basic way of doing so....?

If you plan to use it in your signature, please make it small like Larry has done. Not everyone has a high speed connection, and large images take a long time to load. It isn't too big a problem if you don't post a lot, but if everyone did it, it could become quite bothersome.

Please be advised, that it has been a great source of frustration dealing with photos stored on the HP website. For some reason they don't like to show up here, and a number of members have switched to different hosts to get around this problem.

Don't forget that the image has reside on a web server somewhere....

Hence (used wrong brackets on purpose so you can see entire command):

I'm pretty sure you just use UBB code

(square bracket start) img (square bracket end) address of image (square bracket start) /img (square bracket end)

It should be in the FAQ if you don't understand what I wrote.....

Square bracket start is [
Square Bracket end is ]

Just wondering, how do you get a picture into your signator at the end of your posts? I would like to put a graphic in my signature. Thanks for your help.[:D][8D][:)][:p][;)][^][}:)]
