For those of you who are wanting to purchase a train, check out this: http://www.railmerchants.net/mt-zephyr.htm . Anyone for a Zephyr? No price is given, though.

As I noted above this is not CN equipment. Also, the Royal Canadian is CP Rail, not CN.

As to the Lottery, I just keep on playing. Dunno if I would buy this train with the winnings, there is a lot of passenger equipment on the market now in any event...

That train is a bit overpriced. It hasn't been a CN owned train for quite a few years. It was on the Waterloo-St. Jacobs tourist line in Canada until it failed and was then sold off. I doubt it would be of much use in the U.S. without a good bit of work as it is all Canadian equipment and would require some modification to comply with FRA regs.

I've always found F Units to be ugly.... don't know why, just my preference...

Perhaps I sub-conciously feel that it's their fault steam is no longer here.

We could probably bargin them down to half a mil.

I generally am not a big fan of the F unit engines, but that color scheme makes them look awsome.

Jim:

Sure, I can build you a railroad out here...Can I count on you for a $700 million retainer on that?[(-D][(-D][(-D]

( the boss is a bit of a stickler for things like that!)

If you buy it, I know of a 40 mile shortline in Iowa that might accept it!

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

If I had the money, I'd snap it up in an instant. Perhaps we could all chip in a little bit and use it to run some "forum specials"? I've always loved CN's old green and black paint scheme!

Hey Jim, Nice trainset! and a steal at $600K [2c][2c][2c][2c][2c][2c][2c]

Maybe TRAINS mag would consider buying this set and use it as a promotional train. They could move it all over North America, picking up forum users for excursions and promoting rail travel. Mr. Hemphill, are you listening?? [:D][:D]

Jeff

Oh, I LIKE that idea. [:D]

We could make Mookie the official "kitten" of the train and use her pic as the logo. [:D]

Hey it worked for the C & O. [;)]

Passenger Train For Sale (A Real One)
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 2, 2004 1:24 AM
There is a passenger trainset for sale including 2 F units, coaches, snack cars, and a sleeper. [:p]

I wish I had a lot of railroad track and money to buy it and have fun with it. [;)] [:D]

But then again, "Don't we all?" [:D] [:)] [:p]

Here is the link.

http://ozarkmountainrailcar.com/new_page_81.htm

(Maybe we could talk Mudchicken into building us some railroad track somewhere out west where there is some running room. [;)] Well we can dream can't we?) [^] [:0] [:p]
