Its unfortunate that with the continuing trend of railroads merging that among other things, we lose yards. I guess its a matter of economics, after all, CSX had plenty of yards even before they took over Conrail. Now with new traffic patterns, they can reroute traffic to all different places. I live in the northeast where it seems that yard importance changes yearly. Conrail would downgrade Enola and Oak Island, then jam everything into Allentown. Now NS seems to think differently. Who can keep track?

CSXT closed Stanley yard on April 1 2004. A ex-Conrail (NYC-T&OC)hump yard for the Toledo Ohio area. All traffic will be moved to the allready congested Walbridge yard. Get your super bowl tickets now!!!
