Had me going there for a minute, but in retrospect American corporations, even governmnet subsidized ones rarely ever reinstall former executives. The procedure is to look for fresh new leadership by recruiting or promoting within the ranks.[;)]

Gunn has so shown to be very dedicated, inspite of constantly running into hard walls (Norm MIneta, John McCain). Gunn seems to have the type of personality and leadership style that shows he's in for the long haul and won't jump ship until the goal is reached. Remember, New York City's subway system was deplorable for years. Gunn helped this system regain respect! [swg][tup]

I really hope this is an April Fool's thread. It should be considered a good one if it is!

...This is really a shock...!!! Surely it is just an April Fools play....If it is, it sure got me....I opened this site up and that is one of the first items I saw....Wow...! This just can't be true...If it is, they might as well through in the towel. Dave G. is seemingly one of a kind and where would they find another person to do a job with nothing and expect him to be superman taking on the adminstration and the side of Congress that will not fun this kind of transportation.....Yes, this is at the top of the pile of April Fools Day ploys if in fact it really is one...

This has gotta be an April fool's joke! I doubt if Amtrak's board of directors would bring George Warrington back to Amtrak under any circumstances.

Just where did you hear, read or see this?
What and who are your sources?

Added to the fact that today is April Fool's day....

Some of the April Fool's postings on Trainorders.com can get pretty elaborate. Did you see the yellow tunnel motor patched with gray to read "Southern Pacific"? There's also a good article about RailAmerica buying CSX.
