Try 750 miles for the trip and you get a much more believable number.  (68mph avg velocity)  7500 is almost the diameter of the earth.

 Hmm, 7500 miles between Beijing and Shanghai.  11 hour trip  now comes to 681mph, no slouch that train.  And after the high speed line is completed, 5 hours or 1500mph, now that's fast.

Need to tighten up the editing guys.
