Thanks for sharing.was watching the changes here in defiance but wasn't old enough to drive anywhere yet.Liked the N&W with the hamburger style lettering. There were some chessie slugs in stanley yard but to my knowledge they were either repainted or scrapped.

I am pleased that somebody got great photos of those subjects in the 1980's.

Kalmbach Publishing could make a paperback book out of all of those photos, if they publish those types of books.

Thanks Ed!

I was 15 years old and would ride my 10-speed across town to see that train in the mornings. There was a big M of W project in Lansing, and it was quite a sight seeing them notch it up out of the speed restriction and barrel around that superelevated curve.

The photo on page one of the GTW long hood forward piggyback train is stunning.  I miss that on the Grand Trunk.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi all,

Well, I've finally gotten out the scanner and started digging through my old prints. Switched to slides in late 1988, and eventually I'll scan those and post them on one of the railroad photo hosting sites. Meanwhile, you can check out some of my old shots here:

It's been enjoyable reminiscing- truly the only thing that doesn't change is change itself.
