Missed Opportunity [banghead]
Posted by Jordan6 on Thursday, March 25, 2004 12:45 PM
The other day I was out railfanning near Cedar Rapids, Iowa when the Union Pacific United Way loco decided to fly by. Unfortunatly, to my stupidness I never bothered to check if there was film in the camera!!! I guess that since I have got many years ahead of me that I'll eventually have a chance at it.( That's if the UP doesn't run out of crews.)

Let's here about your badluck stories.[8]

Well, there was this one time way back when the state lotteries began, and I was not in the habit of getting tickets for each drawing, and had a card filled out with the numbers I wanted to use, and one day I forgot to get my tickets, and guess what numbers were picked.........................[sigh]

It was only a million bucks, but still...[banghead]

Only a million bucks?! I consider a million dollars to be quite a nice sum of money!
My bad luck experience would be one time when I didn't know that BNSF was going to run a steam engine through Louiseville, Nebraska. We were down there waiting for trains for one hour and saw lots of freight trains. We then went to my Uncle's house (my uncle lives about 1 mile away from the train tracks) and as soon as I got out of the car, I heard the steam whistle. [banghead][sigh]

MILW 261 coming by Eola yard two years back, a UP DDA40X at West Chicago, about 25 F and E units in a "funeral train" in Blue Island, IL back in the late 1970's, the Blue Island yard "dead line" of Rock Island E and F units (with a sprinkling of Alco units thrown in for good measure), the last Amtrak eastbound California Zephyr with nine SDP40F units (not all running), all with no camera and caught by accident!!!!! NEED I SAY MORE ABOUT FRUSTRATION!

Caught an E&N locomotive on BCRail tracks on a CP train down at roberts bank.
No Camera

Probably the last time I will ever see any loco in those colors.
