The NS has a curfew on the old NKP line due bridge work at Painsville.
The "Toledo Connection" at Berea is only used for occasional reroutes if the railroad's home rail is unavailable, if a bad-order car needs set-out (although usually the "Kunckle Track" at BE interlocking is used for that instead) or if a high-railer wants to get off of the mainline so freight trains can pass by.
The other 'connection', the "Columbus or Big Four Connection", is used for the Wheeling & Lake Erie coke train, that operates through the interlocking six-times per week. It can also be used for the aforementioned "Toledo Connection" items.
I heard about this move and it is a rare one.railroads do have certain detour routes if their own isn't available. There was a fire in Richmond Indiana one time so NS had an intermodal come up the csx line through deshler and turn west on the wye onto the Garrett sub.

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
I do not understand.
Most railroads have interchange tracks. I say "Most" because some one will find one that doesn't.
It is train 205, so it came off of the former Nickelplate route to Buffalo. Not sure what could have happened, but most times that they cross over at Berea, it was a result of a derailment or MofW. Not sure what the case is here though. Either way, it is a rare movement that I have yet to see, even though I have been a 'regular', so to speak, to Berea for about 4-5 years now.
This picture from Berea Ohio I think is rare because of the switch over from the CSX Main to the NS Main. If anybody knows why this happened tell me? I think maybe it was a detour or a reroute.
