Good question. I think they burried 9606, but I can't remember for sure.

In late June, 2006, there was a wreck in British Columbia where an engine derailed and fell/slid several hundred feet down a mouintain, killing the crew. There was much debate about what to do with the engine, since it was in a very difficult place to recover it from. There was talk of leaving it there, pulling it down to the river, burying it, etc. Does anyone remember what was finally done with the engine? Thanks
