theres a lot of rr lines that used to be main lines but are now either short line
companys or abandoned down south most of these line once belong to IC
& GM&O like from Mobile ALA to Merridian Miss most of this was abandoned
some was salvaged and was rerouted now some of it belongs to MSE
Missisippi Export in Moss Point Miss where i was born and raised
my Grandpa worked for GM&O for 9 years till the IC merger took place
then he worked for ICG till MSRC Midsouth rail corp Purchased the line from
Jackson Miss to Shreveport La & From Hattiesburg Miss to Gulfport Miss
3 years & 35 cents an hour later he retired 35 cents meaning his first raise
when Midsouth offered him 15 Cents an hour more ICG doubled it to keep him
