What happened to the LS&I?

Does anyone know what has happened to the Lake Superior & Ishpeming railroad? They only have 11 active diesels!

Don't know how many they used to have but they were still running ore out to the ore dock in Marquette, Mi. last summer when I was up there.
Thought I saw an article somewhere that indicated that they and the Escanaba and Lake Superior were under the control of the Wisconsin Central. If so, it will be intresting to see what happens when the CN takes over.

LS&I used to have 16 U30C's unti 1999 when 4 of these (3009-3012) were replaced by 4 C30-7's (3071-3074). Since then 5 of the U-Boats have been retired due to mechanical problems or wreck damage, and have not been replaced. Maybee more WC power is being used. I hope those a*$#@!%*s at CN won't make them another fallen flag! They(CN) have a reputation of being sort of "raiders".
