New Highway Bridges Over BNSF Brush Subdivision
Two new highway bridges are being built in the Barr Lake area over BNSF's Brush Subdivision. One is the 120th Avenue bridge (nearing completion) and the other is the E-470 Tollway Project.
The 120th Avenue Bridge is nearing completion as of September 2001. It will offer overpass replacement of the grade crossing. This has become a busy road for folks heading for Denver International Airport. Overpass will have a pedestrain walkway on the east side. Of course, fencing will be added (wonder how high?).
The E-470 Project is building several bridges on the west end of Barr Siding. An interchange with I-76 is putting one bridge right over the west end of the siding. The main overpass is further west. Trees have been removed between I-76 and BNSF in the construction area.
