Milwaukee Road Skytop

THG-No actually I bought a ticket. [ :D] I really did ride one of the lounge cars from Minneapolis to Chicagao on the Afternoon Hi maybe about 1961 or '62.It was one heck of a trip, and I'm glad I have it in my "been there, doen that"

I remember seeing one of these cars at Denver Union Station in 1990 or 1991. It was in fairly fresh paint, and it may have been "Cedar Rapids". It did look really amazing and I was greatly impressed to see one at all. I'll check my photos, because I half remember that it was a sleeper and not a lounge.

In 1981 I rode the Amtrak Silver Meteor to Sanford, Florida. I got off at the station and walked across to a storage area where there were several different passenger cars stored. Have any of you all seen this car? Has it been restored? I hope that is was not scrapped! I assumed that it belonged to a private owner.[;)]

If you can get me the number or name I might be able to tell you what happened to it. A few of them went to the Canadian National railway, and two of them went to the "night club on the the barge" sort of place. There is one being restored right now, I traced a website and here it is. http//:www.coffeecreek.info/ It says they are 50% done. Keep me informed. Thanks.

Howdy traingeek087, You might want to go to (www.google.com) & then type in milwaukee road skytop, You will have alot of info choices , I clicked the first one & then clicked on passenger cars Then some photos with info came up . They show the one that was burned out also. Have fun!

I know the other 3 are in bad shape I know one is damage real bad in a fire
