The locomotive was the trailing DPU, so no crewmemebrs onboard.

I was checking my investments when I came across this story:

About ten coal cars and one locomotive plunged into the Yellowstone River when the ground under the track gave way due to water damage. Nobody was hurt, but I can imagine the crew had to sit down a for a little while after the accident...
