Does anyone have any photos of that Ex Reading T1 that Reading Northern is selfishly hiding away in a shed to rot away?

Guys please tell us more. Maybe if it isn't in too bad a condition it could be returned to running condition. I am sure that many people would love to see it running again. Let us know as much as possible about it, please.

The 2100 is alive and well.It is FRA aproved ( Mainline )
Stored in St.Thomas ON.
As I said before this locomotive is in better shape than all of the 4-8-4's
running today.

Hmm. That is good news they moved it then? Last I heard it was in a barn somewhere in Eastern PA. While decisions were being made where to send it.

I think about that T-1 everytime I look at "our" Cotton Belt 819 (4-8-4) in Pine Bluff Ar. I'll be down to see it again for the Meet on April the 3rd.

If it's in such good condition why don't they run it? Is it because of liability? That is the reason the 1522 went under.

Someone's gonna have to fill me on some Reading history. I did a quick internet search and am not sure if what I'm looking at is right.

http://www.readingrailroad.org/ This looks pretty official, but they have a picture of a UP Big Boy for some reason

www.geocities.com/ironhorseusa2000/rdghome.htm But these guys call themselves the official website

www.readingnorthern.com Then these guys are entirely different than the Reading Lines.

So is there some historical society website?

OK, here it is: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/rdg_steam1.html
scroll to the very bottom, to the T1s, 2100, 4-8-4 class.

Your welcome.

The locomotive is also equiped with all the modern electronics and
ditch lights so it can run main line.
The tender holds about 5000 gals of No 1 fuel oil and 22,000 gals
of water.
Tender No 2 is a tool car and about 15,000 gals of extra water.
