Good deal for Amtrak tickets.

This is an FYI for for anyone looking for low cost Amtrak travel.

Last week I won the bidding on eBay for a round-trip Chicago - Washington coach ticket on the Capitol Limited with a bid of $58. That's about half the regular senior discount rate. I think there are occasional re-sales on eBay, but mine came from Amtrak. They are usually offering between 30 and 60 origin-destination pairs. They may also offer additional tickets at the same price for use on the same train/same date

These are in addition to the specials offered on Amtrak's own site, so if you are going, check these sites before you book.
