What ever happened to those Triple Crown trains running to St Paul, MN? Are they curruntly running them up there? What is or will be the route for them, BNSF, CP, or UP? Thanks

I don't beleive that they have started running yet. I know they will be taking an all-UP routing from Chicago to St. Paul.

I live 2 miles from UP's direct line, the old Omaha. It is some rough track, and very under used as a result. Maybe they plan to go via Des Moines, and come up the spine line, a longer route but better track. Does anyone know?

Via Milwaukee, that's the route of the 400's, the one near me. This is all starting to fit together and make sense, interesting. Relatively light weight trains on slightly substandard track, producing revenue, smart thinking Uncle Pete.

There was one grade crossing left on a public road, along this line as it runs through the county, that only had crossbucks. Just recently they installed a set of flashers and gates. Sounds like they are getting ready to handle some real traffic.
