Hey all, [:D]
I just started working in the CSX Brewer yard in Danville, IL and we just got in one of several new RCO units. The funny thing about these new ones is that the RCO control unit is mounted on a flat car. There is a large vertically positioned box on one end of the flat car with all the control equipment inside it, we call it the "hammerhead." Since we have older engines doing the switching in the yard there have been lots of problems with the RCO units working properly, so this flatcar situation is their solution, and it seems to be working pretty well for the exception that it takes awhile for the RCO guys to get their units synchronized to the Remote platform. Anybody else have these in their yards?? And what do you think of them?
