Motor Cars - "Speeders"

Does anyone know if there is a gathering of people with motor cars anywhere. I know there used to be one in Central Illinois. Also any info on where any might be on display would be appreciated. Thanks[:D]

You may check an internet search. My Grandma has a RR video with a club that travels and rides the rails. I can't remember the name though. It seems as though the video was mainly shot in Canada. You know there aren't any class 1's in the US that would let you do it. Maybe shortlines. There was a scene on it they were riding on an abandoned line(?) and when they came to a crossing they had to go over the paved road to get to the rail. I think there were like 20 or 30 motor cars in one group.

There is usually a gathering and excursion for motor cars over the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad during Railfest in September. I got some interesting motor car photos the past two years there. Not sure about contacts or who is organizing that part of Railfest. I would check the GSMRR site.
