Hi BaltACD,

What kind of Internet connection are you using to access our forums?

Erik

I am on 56K dial up from home....you are blocked out on the Ethernet link at work.

I am not comparing speeds between DSL & dial-up, but between dial-up on this forum and the other forums I access by dial-up.

This board is sometimes slow but I would imagine it runs off a server connected to a pretty good network. I use fast DSL and it works fine for me.

The old Dailup service has to me become a useless timewasting computer locking monster that provided no real service. I'll never go back.

I am involved in Computer Systems, have patience and it will work itself out.

Don't fret, Bergie! This board is occasionally a little slow, perhaps, but... the one thing I haven't seen in the comments above is that it is also an uncommonly large and active board, with an amazingly powerful cabability to find things in it. The size alone (which is part of its attraction!) will mean that it will be a little slower -- and there is almost nothing to be done about it; I know -- somehow my current job got me involved in programming data management systems, and that's what this is.
You're doing fine!

I myself have silently made this complaint. I am on cable, but also a wireless network system. While many other boards load almost as soon as I click the favorites link, this one takes about 10 seconds on average to load. may just be your program though bergie, so don't worry. At least this board works for everyone, I am administrator of another site's forum, and my program doesn't work with AOL users because of an IP situation. I normally don't complain about these things though, because I kind of know what you have to deal with already (on a smaller scale).

Checking in on the board at work is usually fine - wideband connection. Home is also pretty much what I'd expect of my dial-up, sometimes better.

I'm on cable and this board runs real well for me...

Perhaps it's just a busy connection on the internet between you and this board, try again a little later. [?]
