Represent your.....subdivisions!

Ok, so what are the subdivisions you're the closest to?

In my case, it's CN's Deux-Montagnes sub and CP's Westmount sub.

How can I tell what subdivisions I am near? I've been wondering that for a while & this seems a perfect place to ask. I live a little north of NS's Conway yard, and a little south of the CSX New Castle yard...

Hey you railroaders out there. One of you needs to offer Nora a timetable for your railroad. Are they on the internet now?

Looking out the window of my apartment I can see CP's Chicago-Milwaukee line about a block away. UP's Harvard Sub is around the corner. CP's Elgin sub a few miles south. Here in Chicago you're never too far from any sub.

I live at Milepost 1.59 on the Two Rivers Sub in Manitowoc, WI. The house is only 40 feet at most from the rail...unfortunetly, they stopped using the line about 8 months ago. Well, at least I got 10 or so years of it passing and we still have the Manitowoc Sub in town which sees a Sunday - Friday train from Neenah, WI.

I live about 1.5 miles from the Chicago to Aurora triple track mainline, which would be the Aurora subdivision of the Chicago Division of BNSF.

Closest official subdivision is CN Bedford Sub outside Halifax, Nova Scotia. The local road is the WHRC, they are a shortline and don't really have subdivisions, although I have heard the line from Windsor to WIndsor Junction referred to as the WHRC Halifax sub.

I live about 3/4 mile from the BNSF River Sub. which is also known as the classic FRISCO River Line (recently noted in the March 2004 issue of TRAINS magazine, pages 22 & 23). I railfan at MP 12.5 on the River Sub. sometimes. I can hear the trains blow for a crossing about a mile and a half from my house at night.

UP's Wichita Service Unit, Kansas Division, Pratt Subdivision, on the Golden State Route, in SW KS. I am nearest to Milepost 412.9. This is the east end of Kismet siding.
I used to live right next to the tracks, across the street from them, but I had to move and I am now 4 miles away but I can still them and hear them. It is really flat here. But I have a good scanner and can hear them talk for awhile.

At work, its BNSF Creston Sub going by your window coming in from Havelock.

At home where you watch the throat to Hobson Yard, thats BNSF Ravenna Sub.

Hastings, Neb City and St. Joseph Subs are nearby....UP's Lincoln Sub enters from the north, the Marysville Sub comes up from Beatrice.

Ya missed all the fun![:D][:D]

Close enough to CN Kingston to hear the horns occasionally when I'm on "The River".
