Out here in Cal.. We get to play with ALCo's and EMD's at the Portola RR Museum[swg] Not little GE center cabs.

I'm surpised you guys never mention this, given the boundless enthusiasm I often read here, of people trying to get ever so much closer to "trains, trains trains",

The opportunity to drive that thing really didn't appeal to me, And I doubt I'll bother , but Just wanted to share, given the zealous passion some here seem to have.

That said, I think I probably will volunteer to help the "765 restoration" folks, since they say they need help and it looks like it might be fun, in a backbreaking "rust dust in every pore of your skin" kinda way...[:)]

would you like some help?email me[:)]

There is a place in MA that does much the same thing - bigger loco, and it costs more, if I recall. Still....

So,...you guys like trains,...huh? (stupid question)

I see a lot of posts here soliciting for spots to watch train action at. Which makes me think there are people out there who would travel, just to find a good watching spot.

How far would you travel for a chance to actually run one of the real McCoys?...As the engineer?
