Having some fun with an online Railroad: The LOLX Project!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, February 9, 2004 7:58 PM
A few members of the Brunswick RR Museum Chat & I decided the other day to come up with an online railroad. The LOLX RY, or Laughing out Loud railway, Is oficially online as of today. Here we have posted some custom 'painted' gif images of locomotives & Cars, and will soon have a route map & timetables 'connecting' our model railroad layouts. Anybody is welcome to join us, and to check out what we've done, we now have a website for it: http://keepsmesane.com/trainheartedguy/lolx

Most of the images are also copy written & used with permission by Michael Eby (With some editing by permission). but feel free to check it out. Here is a link to our loco gallery:

TIMU WESTERN IN A POWER CRUNCH, LEASES ENTIRE LOLX LOCOMOTIVE FLEET FOR 5 YEARS.
Montreal, QC- Montreal Based Timu Western Railway, announced today that it has signed a contract with LOLX of Brunswick, Maryland to lease all LOLX locomotives. The TWR has been suffering from a chronic Motive Power Shortage on its main lines between Pago Pago American Samoa-Montreal "AS Sub" the Montreal-Chicago Main Lines and the Chicago-Detroit-New York City Lines. The Arrival of the LOLX should temporarly releive the TWR from its Chronic Shortage. Currently, the Black and Yellow TWR has been seeing color, with the lease of Locomotives for FURX, HLCX, EMD, GECX, UP, BNSF, NS, CSX, TFM, and CN. The TWR rosters 2,195 locomotives and has about 1,500 on long term lease with anther 140 on short term lease.

The main page doesn't come up for me, but the locos page does.

So if we want to submit a paint scheme we have to change the logos to LOL???

LRC commuter coaches are in the paint shop. I don't know how many at once. But I'd say about ten maximum for the passenger trains, & maybe up to 100 freights on average.

And why not? The thin got wrecked, bu I once had a switch engine, steam 0-6-0, with oversized engineer wearing a U S Cavelry uniform being chased by an ATSF Warbonnet complete with feather sticking out of the exhaust and arrow out of the Firemans windshield. Native American friend of mine thought that was absolutely the funniest thing.
