From what I've red, the circus trains do stop frequently to water the animals, and the animal cars (TRAINS called them "stock cars", I wonder if they were ever "Cattle cars") are placed behind the locomotive(s), to minimize slack jerking for the animals. They probably treat the animals much better than in the past, because if they didn't, then someone would be quick to "derail" this circus.

OK,i get his meaning,i don't like to see animals mistreated. One would think that as long as they have been doing the circus, they would be doing it right.

I have seen them load some of the equipment but not the animals.
I guess the guy was saying the animals are not treated well. Anyway that is what I got from his post. [:(]

It's not necessarily so much the trains themselves but the way
in which their "cargo" is treated by the people who own that
cargo (I'm not referring to railroad personnel here).

Circus trains are about the only type of train I wish would run no more.

The Red Unit train arrived in Atlanta overnight Monday/Tuesday. Parked in the CSX yard about ten minutes from the Phillips Arena.

Does anyone know when the Ringling Brothers Circus Train will be arriving in Atlanta and where? We would love to watch it unloaded. We know it is in the next 4 days or so, sometime between February 8th and February 10th. If not, does anyone know how to get ahold of it's schedule?
Thanks,
Giff
